Aberdare Road Races
Every year, the peace and tranquillity of Aberdare Park is replaced with the roar of motorcycle engines and the excitement of spectators as the annual Aberdare Park Road Races return.
The Races are run by Aberaman Motorcycle Club on the only race circuit in Britain situated less than half a mile from a town centre. The 0.9 mile circuit was first used in 1950 in front of 15,000 spectators. In 1955 the race received the first live television coverage in the country. Over the years, racers have included Neil Hodgson, Carl Fogarty, Robert Dunlop and Ian Lougher.
