Pick up tourism info at your local TIP!

Tourist Information Points (TIPS) have been set up across Rhondda Cynon Taf, offering information on attractions and events in the borough.

The new TIPs, which stock the latest information on what there is to see and do in Rhondda Cynon Taf, can be found in the following locations:

· Aberdare Library

· Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare

· Rhondda Heritage Park

· Treorchy Library

· Dave Williams Artists Works, Treorchy

· Blue Café, Clydach Vale

· Model House, Llantrisant

· Ian Howells Newsagents, Porth

· Trerhondda Chapel, Ferndale

Head of Rhondda Cynon Taf's Tourism Unit, Luan Oestrich said: "It's important that we recognise and promote our tourism strengths to visitors but also to make information available to people already living in Rhondda Cynon Taf. The information points give visitors and residents ideas on things to see and do locally. We have some great attractions and fabulous walking and cycling country that we should be proud of."

The website was launched earlier this year by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Tourism team to bring more visitors to the county and promote the area's attractions, places to stay, outdoor and sporting activities, cultural life, history and heritage.

To help people find what they are looking for, the site has a number of themed sections:

· I would like to - This is the search section for accommodation, eating and drinking, walking and trails, events, attractions and shopping.

· So much to see - Countryside and outdoor activity, heritage and history, culture and events.

· Attractions - including Dare Valley Country Park, Rhondda Heritage Park, Ynysangharad War Memorial Park and Cynon Valley Museum and Gallery.

· Special breaks - packaged offers from Valleys Tourism members.

· Towns within Rhondda Cynon Taf
